Füsun Sayek Association for the Development of Health and Education’s story began as a memorial event for Füsun Sayek, a Turkish female doctor and the former president of the Turkish Medical Association.
Sayek’s family organized a week long event to commemorate her on 2007 and became the region’s first and foremost social event in time. The first two years, the association provided free mammography breast screenings to 2000 women around the villages of Arsuz in cooperation with Avon.
In 2013 the association was institutionalized, quickly evolved into a socially accepted civic body in the region, being the only example of it’s kind.
Füsun Sayek Health and Culture Events, an event series that has grown into a month-long festival, has been held every year since 2007, with a busy schedule of concerts, exhibitions, workshops, seminars, health tests, and sports activities.
Füsun Sayek Association for the Development of Health and Education offers a variety of free public health, children's education, women's empowerment, and community participation events and initiatives.
